Jacksonville, Fla. (Feb. 18, 2019) – Lindsay Starner and Kevin Blalock have been elected to the Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens (JAG) Board of Directors.
Starner devoted more than 20 years of her career to JEA where she began as Environmental Scientist Senior for the company. She then took on various roles regarding the utility’s environmental permitting and compliance. Her responsibilities include providing overall direction for JEA’s solid waste and remediation projects, as well as their storm water, wetland and wildlife programs. Starner also participates in JEA’s ongoing research and development of new technologies to diversify the way JEA provides energy for the Jacksonville community.
“I’m very excited to have Lindsay Starner join our team,” said Arboretum Board President, Ron Whittington. “Her ongoing work is a shining example of how real-world solutions to our world’s energy demands can be designed with the environment in mind.”
Starner received her Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Science and Environmental Studies in 1998 from Jacksonville University.
Kevin Blalock, currently Senior Director of Business Development for IntersectENT, a Menlo Park based medical device firm, joined the Board in August, 2018, and adds to the diversified skillset of the Jacksonville Arboretum’s board of directors. With experience in various business and leadership positions in settings ranging from Fortune 100 to non-profit and consulting, Blalock’s flexibility and adaptability will be valuable to the JAG as it continues to transition from a board to a staff-driven organization.
Blalock completed his MBA at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, and received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Erskine College in South Carolina.
