Jacksonville, Fla. (Nov. 10, 2020) – The Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens Board of Directors elected two new board members for 2020-2021: Jacksonville residents Adina Pollan and Jennifer Marko.
About the New Board Members
Pollan is a Jacksonville native and graduate of University of Florida College of Law. She founded her own firm, Pollan Legal, in 2016 and focuses on bankruptcy, commercial litigation and corporate representation. Among other projects, she will advise the board on legal matters impacting the arboretum.
Marko is a communications specialist at Florida Blue. She was previously the director of ScaleUp North Florida, a small business growth program based at the Small Business Development Center at the University of North Florida, and she operated a public relations firm. Marko will focus on arboretum member engagement and publicity.
Arboretum Board President Kevin Blalock is thrilled with the two new additions. “We’re very happy to welcome Adina and Jennifer, with their unique backgrounds and their love of nature and the arboretum, onto the board,” he said.
Dana Doody, the arboretum’s executive director, looks forward to the contributions of these two new board members. “Our board is made up of volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to conservation and education, and we’re excited for what Adina and Jennifer bring to that effort,” she said.
