Field Trips and Home School Dates
An arboretum is a garden with a focus on trees. Our arboretum is so much more! With 7 natural trails and 13 different eco systems, we are the perfect place to learn about science and nature.
Please schedule your field trip with our Executive Director, Dana Doody. To ensure everyone is safe during COVID-19 all school groups must pre-register on our website. Masks are mandatory when social distancing is not possible per the CDC Guidelines.
Please note that we have a suggested donation price of $3/person. For Title One schools the rate is reduced to $1/person. Payment for your trip can be made through our website or on Venmo.
If you use the donation box at the entrance, please put payment in an envelope with name of your group clearly marked. All programs require advanced registration.
All Field Trips and Home School dates must be pre-registered. (Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens reserves the right to cancel any trip due to safety concerns or weather).
Please fill out this online form!
Important things to consider when visiting the arboretum –
• Open-toed shoes are not recommended. Wear comfortable shoes for walking. You never know how far you will go!
• Please leave the trails and gardens in the condition you found it or better!
• Never pick flowers or leaves – look with your eyes not your hands. Take a picture if you see something special and keep that as a memory of your adventure with us!
Also, for more fun in the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, please check out our Discovering Nature Nearby programs designed with classes and activities that are fun and educational. In person classes are cancelled for now but we will be doing some informative virtual classes that will blow your mind! (details to follow)
